Six Possibilities of a Sculpture
La Loge, Brussel, BE

Using three of her existing Crystalline Floor Pieces(2010-2011) as a starting point, Jennifer Tee created a new choreography for the exhibition Six Possibilities for a Sculpture at La Loge. Working together with dancer Miri Lee, she developed an intense and poetic meditation on shape and movement. It was performed once, to the accompaniment of a rhythmical soundtrack that built to a crescendo of almost tribal drumming, before subsiding to the electronic sound of breathing. The dancer used the rhythm of her own breathing to give structure to her dancing, and her movements were a counterpoint to the geometric shapes of the floor pieces and to the rigid bow that she used as a sculptural prop.
